The Dogtra electronic collar works on a remote transmitter system that you control. There are three control buttons. Pushing the nick button on the remote creates an electric stimulation that lasts for a fraction of a second, for off leash training. For correcting bad behavior there is a constant button and when it is pushed the stimulation lasts for 12 seconds. The pager button when pushed vibrates the collar on the dog and is for added training.
The Dogtra training collars will work from 400 yards up to 1 mile depending on which e-collar is purchased. They are waterproof and can be used during the day or night as most units come with an LCD screen. They are not recommended for dogs under six pounds, under six months of age or dogs that are aggressive to people or other dogs.
Because of Dogra’s stimulation levels, this collar will work for every dog’s temperament. For a stubborn dog, you would want the low to high stimulation output unit and for a dog with a mild disposition, the low to medium stimulation unit.
